Property Details

The Space
With lots of natural light flooding the property, Sunflower Cottage is bright and welcoming. Light walls and neutral coloured furniture create a sophisticated and calming look throughout.

Upon entering the house, you’ll be welcomed into an airy hallway which features a statement glass balustrade. Take the door to the right and you’ll enter the living room. With a grey chaise lounge style corner sofa, a matching armchair and a flat screen TV, this is the ideal spot to retreat with your loved ones and relax.

Continue through the double doors and you’ll find the open plan kitchen diner. Both practical and stylish, the kitchen has high shine, dove grey cabinets and modern appliances. You can make use of the oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle during your stay. Enjoy your homemade meals at the dining area which includes a solid wood table with black metal legs, matching benches and grey leather chairs.

The patio doors open out into the large garden which has a paved area and outdoor dining furniture. A perfect place to relax, children can play on the grass and families can gather for alfresco meals.

Back inside, you’ll find a utility room with a washing machine which is an added bonus for long-term staycations.

There is also a spacious double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Ultra relaxing, the bedroom features a flat screen TV mounted on the wall, a comfy bed with premium linens and a built in wardrobe. The ground floor bathroom is modern and clean with a large walk in shower, WC and basin.

Upstairs on the first floor, you’ll find two further bedrooms and the main family bathroom. Both bedrooms boast sloped ceilings with skylight windows and a tranquil feel. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a flat screen TV. The second bedroom is perfect for younger ones or teens as it features twin single beds and a delightful bee theme.

Head to the family bathroom and you’ll find a sleek, modern suite. Enjoy a soak in P shaped bathtub which also features an overhead shower. The space is complete with a grey vanity unit, basin and WC.

Neighborhood
With a bustling harbour and a seaside holiday resort feel, Seahouses is packed with charisma. Treat the family to a game of crazy golf or go rock pooling. The charming village offers a whole host of tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and shops all within a 0.8 mile walk or drive so you won’t tire of things to do. If you like horse riding, there is a riding school close by and two incredible golf courses on the doorstep.

Hop on one of the boat trips from Seahouses and take a journey to the Farne Islands. Just a couple of miles off the coast, this cluster of islands are one of the UK’s top wildlife experiences. It even has Sir David Attenborough’s stamp of approval as he declared it as his favourite place in the UK to see nature at its best. The Farne Islands are known for its birds with 23 different breeds spotted here, including colourful puffins and razorbills. If you’re lucky enough, you may even see a seal bobbing in the sea whilst you’re on the boat.

Getting Around
The nearest train station to Seahouses is at Chathill which is 5 miles away. The closest East Coast Main Line train stations are located Alnmouth or Berwick-upon-Tweed which are roughly 30 minutes away from Seahouses by car.

There are great bus services from Seahouses. Hop on the X18 which takes you through to Newcastle with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Amble and Alnwick.

Plenty of space, easy reach of town and beach. Lovely property tastefully decorated.

Heating wasn’t set correctly this meant we weren’t warm enough.

As soon as you walked in you felt at home.The beds and pillows were very comfortable and everything you needed was in the kitchen.
The only minus was the shower in downstairs bathroom it kept going hot and cold and not very powerful.I don’t rate electric showers.

clean and new, well equipped with good quality furnishings, located a short walk from town. The house is located on a new street and the (Hidden by Airbnb) drop pin we received did not work and so we spent some time locating the house.

Lovely, new, modern property in a great location. Close to all amenities but tucked away from the main road and we found it very quiet here. Property was very clean and tidy on arrival. Plenty good storage in the bedrooms. Two parking spaces right outside and self catering was easy, due to proximity of local co-op. Good facilities - had pretty much everything you could want for a few days away. Nice decor, felt very homely. Various places to eat nearby and not far at all to Bamburgh with its beautiful castle and beach.
Downstairs shower was dangerously hot and found the duvets on the twin beds very noisy - not experienced this before but they sounded like crumpling paper every time you move and disturbed sleep.
Just a suggestion but rooms were big enough to fit larger beds too - could’ve put a zip and link superking in each really for added luxury and/or to offer better choices for rooms ie 6 single beds or 3 extra large beds. Property was to sleep 6 but only room to seat 4 people in the lounge…
The owners may appreciate knowing that the agents that deal with this property were not good at getting back to us with answers to questions. I phoned and messaged them but never received answers to my queries. We had plenty messages from them but they appeared to be automated as they were just standard info.

What a great place! We stayed with our teenage children and their 2 friends - we all loved the cottage and had an amazing holiday - I’d definitely recommend it!

Cottage was super clean and decorated beautifully. Location absolutely spot on. Having private parking was great.
TV in master bedroom would not connect to wi-fi.

Would have liked it allow pets as we had to leave our dog at home- but obviously this is more a personal preference!!

Very new, all normal house facilities made available.
Beds a bit basic, only one hard pillow, down stairs large bedroom did not have a king bed and TV very small.

The bungalow was exceptionally clean and well maintained and seemed to have been recently renovated. Good quality fixture and fittings with some kitchen fittings looking unused. Would not hesitate to return.
No information on which bin to put out - recycle bin full to overflowing with wrong waste in it. Not major but an inconvenience Ground floor bedroom needs a blackout blind as room too light for us especially with early sun rise.

Location was great, beautifully furnished and decorated. Very roomy with a nice garden and patio. Everything you would need was in cottage
Cleaner didnt turn up till 5pm on day we arrived so we had to sir in garden till about 6pm

We’ve just spent 4 nights and we’ve had an amazing time! Location is perfect and the cottage is immaculate! It’s lovely and quiet and very comfortable!
My only tip would be to take a portable black out blind if you’re using the third bedroom (ground floor) as it’s really light In there but easily solved if you just pack a blind to stick to the window!

It was so comfy, clean, bright and homely. The location could not have been better. The staff were excellent. I would highly recommend this property.
